The Steel Workshop

music education with steelpans

Thanks for Visiting!

We hope you can find everything you need. The Steel Workshop is focused on providing high-quality service and musical experience to your classroom and activities. We will do everything we can to meet your expectations.

What We Do

Under the musical guidance of Pannist, Tish Viljoen, let the sounds of The Steel Workshop captivate your students, bringing joy and a sense of achievement as we teach them how to play the steelpan.

The Steel Workshop will bring the pans to your school or site and conduct a 2 to 3-hour** session teaching the students how to strum and play melodies. We also learn about the key fundamentals of the pan orchestra including the engine room (percussion) and Caribbean history.

**recommended workshop time allowance.

Workshop times can be customised to work within your schedule and can also run as multiple workshop sessions throughout the day, eg. Five 1-hour sessions for five different groups.

Costs are calculated accordingly and include instruments and time for setup and pack down. Please get in touch for a no-obligation quote. Please note that workshops outside of the Auckland region will include additional costs for travel allowance.

With a variety of offerings to choose from, we're sure you'll be happy working with us. Look around our website and if you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact us.

We hope to see you again! Check back later for new updates to our website. There's much more to come!
